From Monday 19th July 2021 our COVID-19 policy will be as follows:
Please wear a face mask at all times when visiting the practice.
We will be allowing one person per pet into the practice.
Please use the hand sanitiser provided on entry and exit.
We will still carry out most of the consultation outside and invite you in with your pet for their examination. This is to limit the time spent in our small consultation rooms.
Please do not visit us if you are showing any signs of Covid-19, including the new Delta variant symptoms.
Please do not visit us if you’ve been asked to isolate due to being in contact with someone who’s tested positive for Covid-19.
We have been operating consistently throughout this global pandemic and we would hate to come this far through it, just for everything to be pushed back again.
Please, please, be respectful that whilst restrictions have eased, covid-19 has not gone away.
We know it can be scary and confusing for owners to not be able to come inside with their pets whilst the vets and nurses are doing their jobs. We thank all of our clients for bearing with us so far. We will start to allow one person inside the practice per animal as long as this stays safe for us to do so.
So for now please continue to wear a face mask at all times when visiting us. Please respect our protocols and decision on this matter. Please maintain social distancing and let’s try to get through this safely, kindly, and together.

From Tuesday 2nd February 2021, our out of hours emergency service is changing.
There will be a phased introduction of our emergency work being covered by Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic, which runs at Quantock Vets, Quantock Terrace, The Drove, Bridgwater TA6 4BA. Initially the emergency clinic will provide a service out of hours for Isle Valley Vets patients on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 6.30pm and 8.30am the following morning. At all other times the service will continue from Isle Valley Vets as it is at present. Our daytime services will remain unchanged.
If you require emergency care for your pet on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday please call the Stoke-Sub-Hamdon clinic branch number as usual (01935 310930), your call will be diverted to our answer phone service who will collect your details and contact the Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic on your behalf.
The staff on duty at Somerset Veterinary Emergency Clinic will then call you back and arrange an appointment or offer advice as needed.
We feel this is a very positive step forward, they are a specialist emergency veterinary team with emergency equipment at the practice, a designated, experienced vet and nurse on site all night. We feel this service will offer our patients the best possible care outside of our normal working hours.
If you have any questions about this, please give us a call to discuss.
